Dao Duy Tu Rampart also called Thay Rampart under Bao Ninh and Hai Ninh Commune, Dong Hoi City and Quang Ninh District, Quang Binh Province. Dao Duy Tu Rampart system began construction since 1630 to 1662 in order to prevent Trinh enemy.

Dao Duy Tu rampart system associated with military genius Dao Duy Tu, he was under Trai Hoa Commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa. Dao Duy Tu Rampart was built to defend in Trinh – Nguyen war(17th-18th century) consists of ramparts: Truong Duc rampart that is 10km long, was built follow Hoi letter shape and by clay, started from Truong Duc base of Mountain to Hac Lai lagoon that was built to prevent the raiding of Trinh enemy inside of Viet Nam in 1630. Nhật Lệ Rampart: was built in 1631, began from Nhat Le seaport to Dau Mau Mountain, has 12km long and 6m hight, outside made from ironwood, inside was built from soil creating five level. Truong Xa Rampart: was built in 1633 along the coastal of Bao Ninh Commune, Dong Hoi city, from Nhat Le seaport to Hai Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district.
With historical values and military architecture, Dao Duy Tu Rampart had been recognized as an national relics by state. Currently, Dao Duy Tu rampart is not intact, but some of parts still preserve vestiges. Nowadays, Dao Duy Tu rampart and other tourism destination of Quang Binh such as: Phong Nha Cave, Nhat Le beach, Dong Hoi Bulwalk … that are attracting internal and external tourists come to visit.
